Koffi opened its doors in August of 2002. Our original café (pictured here) began as a small 800 square feet community gathering place. In the spring of 2005, we doubled the size of our cafe to provide an even more comfortable environment for Palm Springs residents and tourists to enjoy. Today, Koffi's primary focus is on increasing customer satisfaction while enhancing the development of our employees.

Koffi is owned by John Abner and John Strohm, two full-time Palm Springs residents who share a passion for serving exceptional coffee in an upscale environment that is very Palm Springs.

I'd hire a videographer... I could kick myself!

I would not have forgotten my garters.

I would have taken the extra time to get more pics of me and my husband instead of worrying about the guests waiting.

I think I would have spent more money investing in my hair/makeup. I wanted to find someone that had reasonable prices for my BM's so I didn't go with other people because of that. Even though I was willing and able to spend more on my own services.

I think I would have danced less??? :) I was on the dance floor the ENTIRE night with my girl friends. Because of that, I realized that I didn't get to talk to as many of the guests as I would have liked...especially those that weren't ever on the dance floor.

I would have been more clear with our officiate about our vows. I just assumed that he was going to have us repeat the entire vows (i.e. better or worse, sickness and health, etc) after he said each line. Instead, he said the entire thing and we just got to say "I do" afterward. I'm really bummed that I didn't get to say those words.

I would have insisted on the photog getting more detail shots.

I would have brought flip flops for myself to the reception
we hardly danced AT ALL!!!! we spent most of the night chatting with people. I feel like i missed out a little on that.

HIRE A GREAT PHOTOGRAPHER!! DON'T SKIMP HERE.

We would've taken dance lessons and did a choreographed first dance, just a simple foxtrot or something...rather than the "8th grade sway.

Get all your projects done a week before if all possible. I paid the price for putting my projects off. I loss lots of sleep and didn't really get to enjoy hanging out with friends and family before the wedding day.

I would've told my DJ to play music for our older guests first, and then play the young nightclub music later in the night.

I would've gotten lipstick to reapply throughout the day. It didn't occur to me that once my MUA left, I'd have no lipstick to reapply. And there's a LOT of kissing that goes on.

Would be to spend a little more time walking around talking to people ... we really tried to hit every table ... but I know we missed a few and I would go back and make sure I got to those tables and chatted a little more ....once I started dancing that was it , I never left the dance floor.

One less bridesmaid - hate to say it - she was a tad bit difficult and I found myself trying to escape her during the whole planning process and wedding.

Slowed down- and had them do my bustle better. It was not right and the whole night it was bugging me lol dragging, ripping, etc.

ohhhhhh and definitely GET A VIDEOGRAPHER IF YOU CAN AFFORD IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously- we watch the 'friends' videos and reminisce. It would be nice to have a professional one!!! You see things you don't even remember lol and it makes me cry!

Hired someone to plan and take over my wedding coordination. I'm still traumatized.

Hired a hairstylist and MUA to come to my hotel room - we drove (not far) to the salon and it would have been much more relaxing and less of a strain on the timeline had I found someone to come to the room.

Eaten our cake...we had no time to even try a bite...the only taste i got was shoving our faces full.

Allowed more time to get ready. We ran way behind with hair that I didn’t have ample time to concentrate on my makeup and felt there were aspects of my hair I didn’t really like, but there was no more time to fuss with it. We also had to cut out taking pre-ceremony pics with BMs because of running over schedule.

Made sure we had microphones for the ceremony-no one could hear what we were saying :( our venue said they would have microphones when I got up there...they didn't have them. So double check.

For the getting ready everyone said they do the bride last so she looks fresh...I would have definitely gone first so that while others are getting ready I could organize m thoughts and take time for myself and pictures instead of being rushed. Then I would have just gotten a quick refresher before the ceremony.
I would have had a second dress if I would have known how hot my dress was going to be when I was dancing.

The only thing that I honestly thing that I would do over would be to add on an extra hour to my reception, it went by too fast.

I would have re-thought my Bridesmaids. Don't get me wrong, I love them dearly, but I would have rather been surrounded around people that were more positive and supportive during the planning AND the wedding.

I would have not worn 4in heels walking around Vegas all day and night- 5 days before my wedding- I had huge blisters- thank goodness for the blister band aids- but at the end of the night my blisters were starting to hurt- so don’t get blister before your big day!

Would have been pushier with my BM's to be ready on time, I didn't get some shots I wanted because they weren't ready.

We decided to not have a receiving line after the ceremony. I'm REALLY REALLY REALLY regretting that.

I highly encourage hiring a DOC. I had one but she cancelled on me the week before, so family members stepped in. Everything worked out fine, but with a DOC he/she knows the timing and can communicate between every vendor and wedding party person. This helps if you don't want to send your groomsmen and bridesmaid all around the venue with messages

i am beyond crushed that we did not take a few pictures in places that i had been so looking forward to...we got so caught up in the moment of dancing and laughing and loving life with all of our friends and family that we didn't get to wisk away to those few secret spots we had been hoping to take a photo at.

I would have 100% opted to see the Groom before the ceremony for alone time and pictures.. The day goes by in such a whirlwind that you no matter how hard you try to "take it all in"--you never can. Would have loved that extra 45 mins alone with my Husband to be. (THIS IS A BIG ONE< SO MANY BRIDES SAID THIS!)

I would have brought my must take photo list to the wedding to ensure we got all the pics with all the important people we really wanted.... we missed SO many.

Try SOOOO hard to soak it all in and enjoy everything. I wish I could go back and do the whole day over. It's so beautiful in my memory, but SO blurred. It went by so fast. I wish I had REALLY savored how much I loved wearing that dress.

I would have taken better care of myself so I wasn’t sick with fever and chills the weeks and days leading up to my wedding day; i think the stress of taking on too much myself had finally taken its toll.

TRIAL run TRIAL run TRIAL run. :) I didn't do this on my makeup. It wasn't horrible but I actually could of done it on my own WAY better. Also TRIAL hair for sure. And go with your first instinct. I still regret wearing my hair up.

I remember and regret that I did not relax enough and did not enjoy the day as much as I could. I was too worried about details and other stuff that does not really matter at the end.

I would have spent more time looking for the perfect dress.

I forgot to make a small speech thanking everyone for coming and thanking our parents for being awesome. I wish we remembered to do that.

Love love love my photographer and videographer (DONT SKIMP HERE! its the only thing at the end of the day that is for you and your husband. At the end of the day, all you have are your memories and photos/video)

Hiring an inexperienced DOC - my biggest regret was hiring a coordinator that she herself had a wonderful wedding but was too overwhelmed during mine. She was a previous PW bride... so WARNING!! someone might have a gorgeous wedding and might be starting a new wedding events business but it doesn’t guarantee a smooth day. I really regret hiring her and would have been better off leaving the tasks to friends and family. If you do hire a DOC, bite the bullet and hire a seasoned pro. If you're not willing to dish out the cash, then just have friends and family that will step up. In hindsight, I still wouldn't pay the 1500 it would take for a DOC. I was still able to have a great day despite not having a good DOC.

Not holding my bouquet lower - i feel like i held it too high and the flowers hid the neckline of my dress. Not major but still.

Being engaged and working at Brides.com, I can't help but get excited about planning my own wedding. I'm inspired by everything on the site, especially all the amazing photos in the Real Weddings Gallery. So when I started planning my own wedding, photography took center stage as the most important element of our wedding day.

Once I booked my photographer, I began to map out all the places I wanted to take pictures. As the list grew I became concerned about whether or not... we could squeeze all the locations into the one-hour break between the ceremony and reception. Some grooms are choosing to break with tradition and see their fiance before she walks down the aisle in order to take portraits before the ceremony. I thought this was a great alternative to using the cocktail hour for pictures, but my fiance disagreed. To my surprise, he's rather traditional. He wants to wait until the church doors opens to see me. Adorable? Yes. But I was back to my original predicament.

To solve our problem our photographer suggested a Newlywed Shoot. The idea is to meet after the wedding - in all of our wedding attires - and take photographs without time restraints. And because you don't have to worry about getting dirt on your clothes, you can take all those shots you wouldn't have dared posed for before the reception- like running in the surf or climbing a tree with your new hubby.

A Newlywed Shoot is stress-free fun. No worrying about getting a grass stain on your dress or rushing to get to your guests. Plus, it's an excuse to wear your dress again! Could there be a better incentive? —Kate Cavanna

IS DIGITAL GREEN ?

Back in the 90s I worked at Universal Studios Hollywood. I would need to arrive at work 30 to 40 min before my "call time," sometimes bussed from the back lot through movie sets and production crews just to get to wardrobe. You would think I was an actor but I just was an amusement park worker. After going through security I would finally reach wardrobe and dress the part of your department. For me it was the photographers. We were issued 35 mm Nikon cameras and deployed to various areas of the park with a "ticketer" (person who hands you film and the guest tickets ). My normal area was the tram with another photographer and ticketer team. Tram after tram pulling in, sometimes four at a time with only four feet between these massive transports and us. As soon as the tram stops off we go.The guest gets on, and from behind the character (Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy, Phantom etc.) grabs them, pulls them toward me, and click. As fast as we could go, grab click, grab click, grab click, grab click, in a one second rhythm with roll after roll of film being loaded. Keep in mind only 15% of the photos would sell. So 10 photographers would take anywhere from 1000 to 4000 each depending on there area. 30000 shot, processed, and printed daily 365 days a year.I remember seeing huge trash bags of prints just being thrown in the trash. Gallons of chemicals dumped. Even before digital was an option, and green was cool I felt this waste was not right. Finally Kodak came to us with these funny looking Nikon cameras that were extremely awkward and heavy. They also incorporated dye sub printers so that only images that were sold were printed. So we said goodbye giant machines, gallons of hazardous chemicals, and tons of discarded paper. As we all know its is even evolving more smaller more efficient cameras rechargeable batteries etc... So in closing I must have to say without a doubt digital is pretty darn green. And thank you Kodak and all the engineers that made all this possible. Wedding Photography Guide for Brides -

I came across this article and thought could be very helpful to my brides.Some great tips here . Enjoy !!

I'm sure you already know that choosing the right wedding photographer is just as important as choosing the right groom. Just kidding. Getting the right photographer is important, but there are lots of things that YOU can do to ensure that your wedding photos are as good as they can be.

Pre-Wedding Photo shoot
Having a pre-wedding photo shoot can improve your wedding pictures more than anything else you might do. Think about it, your photographer is VERY comfortable on his end of the camera. The time you spend with your photographer in front of the camera will help you become more comfortable being the subject. Try to get to know your photographer. Have fun. Be crazy. Let's face it; those "magazine bride photos" that you have been looking at do not happen all by themselves. They are well planned, rehearsed, and the photo that you finally see in the magazine was probably picked from hundreds of photos. The more time you spend with your photographer, the more likely it is that he will capture that one special moment that only happens once.

The Pose
"Chin up, a little to the left, shoulders back, stand on one foot, hold your breath...hang on, don't move." Any photographer worth his salt should be able to pose you in an elegant and attractive position. Do you know the reason for all these the contortions? By lifting your chin you banish the double chin. Holding your elbows away from your body reduces the apparent width of your torso and accentuates the bosom. Shifting your weight to your rear foot cocks your hips into a position that gives you a sexy curviness. There are many other little tricks your photographer may teach you. Just listen and he will not lead you astray.

Hair and Makeup
Your wedding day is not the right time to experiment with makeup and hairstyles. Be sure to plan a separate day to have a hair and makeup "dress rehearsal". If you plan to wear a headpiece, use this time to make sure that it will fit with your hairstyle. If you plan it right, your photographer may be available to take some formals on this day too.

Props
Give you photographer the tools he needs to be creative. When ordering flowers for the wedding, be sure to order an extra single rose, boutonniere, ribbon or other inexpensive items that the photographer can use in your photos. Don't forget to have a copy of your wedding invitation that he can incorporate into the detail shots of your big day. Photos of wedding rings with flowers, invitation, maybe even your shoes and garter can really add to your album.

The Bouquet
How should you hold a bouquet? In a single word...DOWN!! Never hide your thousand dollar dress with a hundred dollar bouquet. If you are a five foot bride, do not order a 3 foot cascading bouquet. It's going to be a long day. By the end of the day, you will be wishing that your bouquet was smaller, lighter, more durable, and maybe even artificial. And if it's too big you may even injure your guests during the bouquet toss.

Backgrounds and Angles
Remember, your wedding day is all about you. Many times complicated backgrounds in your photos distract the viewer's attention away from the bride and will take away from your photographs. Keep backgrounds as simple as possible. Interesting angles are what keeps the images of a professional photographer from looking like the images of "Uncle Joe". Everyone knows what a wedding looks like from 5 feet 6. You may see your photographer lying on the ground or climbing trees. Don't laugh at him. That's why he gets paid well for doing a great job.

Lighting
When choosing your venue and time of day, keep lighting in mind. If your wedding is outdoors, the best light happens 1-2 hours before sunset. If your wedding is indoors, try to avoid buildings with high dark ceilings and few windows. Since natural light will look much better in your photos, try to plan your wedding when the room will be the brightest. By the way, photographers hate fluorescent lights. They make you look green.

Single Use Cameras
Lots of people use them and they seldom work. You may get a few good photos here and there but don't expect too much. You'll probably get a whole camera full of photos of Cousin Skip's girlfriend that you hardly know. Your three year old niece will probably take a lot of pictures of people's belly buttons. And if anyone gets tipsy at the reception you may get a lot of photos of the ground, shoes, or eyeballs (from holding the camera backwards). Your photography is best left to professionals.

Just thought I'd share a few images I took recently .I took a trip through San Fransisco ,Carmel,Big Sur,and Cambria.Really a beautiful coastline.I stayed at "The Red Victorian" Located near haight and ashbury street in San Fransisco. It was "Groovy".There were allot of artist, music and food so I was a happy camper.

I then headed down the coast back home to Palm Springs via Carmel,

Big Sur,and Cambria. It was a great trip I highly recommend doing it .(bring lots of film or memory).

Tara and Neil

Tara and Neil had their wedding at the Parker Palm Springs.It was allot of fun.Neil is English and he had many friends and family fly over from England for the event.They all loved the dry warm air of the desert and loved the hotel.Tara and her mom were so much fun and they did a great job organizing this international event.Tara had her ceremony set up in a circle, it was really nice.Everyone lit candles and enjoyed a great sunset while Tara and Neil said there vows.
The Parker is a 13 acre resort with gorgeous grounds. It also has 5 star friendly not stuffy service. It's happy chic vibe keeps everyone in a no worries state of mind.A perfect place for a wedding.If your in the desert stop by there and try Norma's for breakfast its great!

Lucinda and Josh chose the Horizon Hotel in Palm Springs to hold their wedding.Originally L'Horizon was designed and built in 1952 by desert architect William F. Cody for oilman, Hollywood mogul and hotelier Jack Wrather and his actress wife Bonita Granville as a retreat for themselves and their friends. It was very cool because their wedding party was able to take over the entire hotel."The Residence"" is where we did the pre wedding photos. Both Lucinda and Josh have a great love of art and had some great ideas for some portraits.It was fun to work together as artists and be free to explore new ideas and poses.

Jennifer and David had a beautiful day and we really captured some fun images.We started at J Russell Solon where the girls were getting ready.My assistant was over with the guys at the Rancho Las Palmas.They had a beautiful ceremony at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.Following the ceremony we all went over to Monterey Country Club for a fabulous reception.It was a great event with great people.Best wishes to them both.
